ELIGIBILITY

Graduate students with an interest in health psychology can submit abstracts. Graduate students are defined as, but not limited to,  PhD, PsyD, MA, MS, MPH, and MD students. Undergraduate student posters can be submitted if a graduate student is listed as an author (any order).

Health psychology is broadly defined for the purposes of this conference. If any questions arise about whether your submission fits within the scope of the colloquium, email us at healthpsych.colloquium@gmail.com.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: February 24, 2025

NOTICE OF ABSTRACT STATUS: March 3, 2025

PRESENTATION FORMAT

Presenters should only submit abstracts they are first author on. Presentations are limited to one speaker. Given the nature of the student-led conference, abstracts previously presented at others conferences are allowed. Work-in-progress abstracts are encouraged and a great way to practice and receive feedback from your peers!

Abstracts should include a lay-person description of your research at an 8th grade reading level. See the online tool to aid in estimation the reading level of the lay-person description: https://www.online-utility.org/english/readability_test_and_improve.jsp_

Presentation Formats

​

PAPER PRESENTATION: Paper presentations will be 15 minutes each. 10 minutes will be allotted for presentation and 5 minutes for Q & A. Abstracts should include: Background, Method, Results, and Conclusion. 

**abstracts not accepted for paper presentations will automatically be considered for data blitz and/or poster presentations.

WORK-IN-PROGRESS (WIP)/DATA BLITZ: WIP/Data Blitz presentations will be 5 minutes. WIP abstracts must include: Background, Proposed Method: Expected Results, and Significance. Data Blitz abstracts should include: Background, Methods, Results, and Significance.

POSTER: Posters will be hosted on the Big Apple Health Psychology Colloquium webpage. â€‹
